February House Sales in Greensboro

by Casey on March 19, 2009

It’s time to show how Greensboro real estate sales stacked up for the month of February.

WARNING: The following is intended for mature audiences and those with sound hearts, strong stomachs, and a stiff drink at the ready.

Sales were down*. As in d-o-w-n. Down from January. Down from last February.

This doesn’t really follow the more positive trending I’ve been writing about lately. So, is it that the more positive numbers are misleading? Are February sales numbers out of whack? Am I just full of hooey altogether?

I’ll assume that none of you voted for the 3rd answer and will move forward.

It could be that closings in February will tend to reflect contracts that were signed in December. And December was not a fun month around here. Nor was November.

This is just a thought, though. I made indeed be lousy with hooey.

At any rate, these are the numbers. And as a clever Realtor in Knoxville, Suzy Trotta, has written on her blog when sharing her stats, I am not a real estate hater. I am not trying to derail hopes or drive agents from the profession – much. These are just numbers.

And, for what it’s worth, there actually were properties that closed. Things do sell. And my recent post about current listings show that more and more houses are going under contract.

March numbers are just around the corner. We’ll take those figures as they come. But for now…

As always, whether the news is good or bad, you’ll see it here.
